Barber Who Takes Customers’ Hair to Shrine After Barbing in Umuahia Caught By Youths

A barber has reportedly been confronted by youths in Umuahia, Abia State, over an alleged practice of collecting customers’ hair after cutting it and taking it to a shrine.
The incident, which has generated concern among residents, reportedly came to light after some youths allegedly discovered that the barber had been keeping portions of hair removed from customers during haircuts.
According to the video watched   and circulating about the incident, the barber was accused of taking the collected hair to a shrine for undisclosed purposes. The allegation has sparked reactions among residents, with some calling for a proper investigation to establish the facts surrounding the matter.
The youths who confronted the barber reportedly questioned him about the alleged collection of customers’ hair. The situation has also renewed discussions about the importance of trust between customers and personal-service providers such as barbers and hairdressers.
However, there is currently no independently verified evidence establishing what the barber allegedly intended to do with the hair or whether any spiritual activity actually took place. Claims surrounding shrines and alleged ritual practices should therefore be treated cautiously until verified by credible authorities.
Residents have urged relevant authorities and community leaders to investigate the matter properly rather than allowing rumours or mob action to determine the outcome.
The incident has also prompted calls for greater awareness among members of the public, particularly regarding personal items such as hair and other materials that may be removed during grooming services.
If the allegations are proven, appropriate legal action should follow. If they are found to be false, the barber should equally be protected from unjust punishment or public harassment.
As the story continues to attract attention, residents are encouraged to avoid violence and allow the appropriate authorities to establish the facts.
