Go For World-Class Signings, Not Average Players like “Pedro Neto”  Manchester City fans Tells Maresca

Manchester city fans reportedly expressed frustration over what they consider questionable transfer choices under manager Enzo Maresca, with some supporters calling for the club to pursue more established world-class players. The debate, in the  fan’s debate group  has particularly focused on the reported interest in winger Pedro Neto. Some City supporters have described the Portuguese attacker as an average option compared with the elite-level players they believe the club should be targeting.
According to the critics, Manchester City have built their reputation around signing players capable of competing at the highest level, and they want the club’s recruitment strategy to maintain that standard.
Fans have also drawn comparisons with Pep Guardiola’s era, arguing that the club previously showed greater ambition when identifying players who could immediately strengthen the squad and compete for major honours.
Neto is undoubtedly a talented winger with pace, directness and the ability to create chances, but his suitability for a club with Manchester City’s expectations has become a subject of debate among supporters. His injury history and consistency have also been raised by some fans as factors that should be considered before making a major investment.
The criticism does not necessarily mean that all City supporters oppose a move for Neto. Rather, it highlights the expectations surrounding the club and the desire for signings who can make an immediate difference at the highest level.
With Manchester City expected to remain active in the transfer market, attention will now turn to Maresca and the club’s recruitment team to see whether they will pursue established superstars or continue investing in players viewed as having the potential to reach the elite level.
