CASE! A 34-Year-Old Man who Abduct and Sexually Assault a 14-Year-Old Girl Remanded By Ikeja Magistrate Court
Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos State has remanded a 34-year-old driver, identified as Segun Falola, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre over allegations of abducting and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
In theĀ evidence’s video , Ā Falola, who reportedly resides in Alakuko, Lagos, was brought before the court following allegations that he abducted the teenage girl while she was travelling from Alakuko to Agege.
According to the allegations presented before the court, the suspect allegedly lured the 14-year-old girl to his residence, where he was accused of sexually assaulting her.
Following the case, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. C. M. Kushanu, ordered that Falola be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court directed that the matter be adjourned until September 30, when the case is expected to come up again.
The allegations have raised concerns about the safety of children and teenagers travelling alone, particularly in busy communities across Lagos. Cases involving the alleged abduction and sexual abuse of minors are treated seriously under Nigerian law, with authorities expected to investigate the circumstances and establish the facts.
Falola’s remand is not a declaration of guilt. The court will consider the evidence and subsequent legal advice before determining how the case should proceed.
The development also highlights the importance of protecting minors from individuals who may attempt to gain their trust or lure them into unsafe situations. Parents, guardians and members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspected cases of child abuse or abduction to the appropriate authorities.
